What Can a Masterminds Group do for you?

7 Reasons Why a Mastermind Group Might be Right for you.

It’s a fact, the quality of the people you surround yourself with will have a profound effect on your life, you’re thinking, and your business. What is your passion and purpose in life? Are the people you spend time with helping you achieve this? Your lifestyle will generally reflect the lifestyle of the people you have in your life.

What is a Mastermind Group and how can it help you achieve your goals?

A Masterminds group is the coordination of knowledge and effort of a group of people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony. Mastermind groups are relatively new to most people. A mastermind group is designed to help you navigate through challenges using the collective intelligence of others.

How does a mastermind work? A group of intelligent like-minded individuals meet monthly or even weekly to tackle challenges and problems together. They lean on each other, give advice, share connections and do business with each other when appropriate. It’s very much peer-to-peer mentoring by participating in a Masterminds Group you will see a marked change in yourself and your business.

7 reasons why a Mastermind Group might be right for you:

You’ll be part of an exclusive community. Joining a mastermind typically involves you being invited by the members or going through an application process. The other members need you just as much as you need them, so the quality of experience and knowledge is crucial to all involved.

Advisement. Once you are involved in a mastermind, that feeling of “being alone” while running your business is gone. The other members of the group turn into business advisors of sorts and vice versa.

Collaboration is the name of the game. You may find someone in the group that is a perfect fit to work on a project with you. Or, you may be the perfect person to help another member as well. The group works together collaboratively, to achieve more together.

Extend your network. Joining a mastermind expands your network exponentially and rapidly. If you are in business, you know how important your network is. By joining a mastermind, you instantly add to your network and typically gain the networks of those in the group with you.

New learning. Everyone in the mastermind is unique in skill, experience and connections. By interacting and sharing your challenges, it’s almost certain that someone in your mastermind will have a solution for you and you may also be able to offer a solution, connection or tactic to help another in the group.

Cross-promotion. When you join a mastermind, you will most likely find ways to help each other by utilizing cross-promotion. Finding ways to help each other by promoting to your respective networks.

Think bigger. Being in a mastermind will truly give you a Master Mind! You can’t help but think bigger and stretch beyond your boundaries when surrounded by amazing people doing amazing things.

Masterminds are incredible groups and can-do wonders for your business as well as for you, personally. Growing in a group is not only more effective, it’s inspiring and more fun!

Here are some guidelines if you want to create your own Masterminds’ Group.

  • Invite a group of successful, like minded individuals, generally no more than 30 to come to an initial meeting and apply for participation then you will need to approve their application. Make a list of 4-5 leaders in your database and reach out to core people. Create an application to join.
  • Always charge a fee to participate which improves participation and commitment. Generally, around $1,000- $1,200 per year.
  • Host meetings once a month same day, usually on a Tuesday or Thursday evening.
  • Hold the meetings at a high-end restaurant in a private room or at a 4 Star Hotel. Have the same location each meeting.
  • Have an agenda and outline the next 3 months of events and topics. Have participants to research on the topic and come prepared to share that information, handouts and give advice.
  • The meeting should go from 5-7 pm with arrival at 4:40 pm so networking can occur, and everyone will be on time for the kick off at the start of the meeting. No tardiness allowed, it is disruptive.  Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM so as to not interrupt the flow of the meeting. Everyone pays for their own meal. You can ask the restaurant to provide choices in a set price range and collect the money upfront.
  • You can use an online system such as Eventbrite to collect money in advance.
  • Have materials on hand – pens, sign in sheets flip charts magic markers and a timer for each speaker. Allot 5 minutes per speaker then a few minutes of feedback. Write the question on the notecard then pass to the person
  • Each meeting has 3 Goals and 3 challenges to complete in 30 days – Example: 3 ways of time management, marketing, selling
  • The first person in the meeting who raises their hand is first speaker and then they select the next speaker. 3 minutes to talk about the topic and 2 minutes for questions.  Write the rest of the information on the notecard and give to them.  They can discuss further at the dinner.
